MONTERREY, Mexico – November 27, 2018 – Softtek, a leading global IT services provider dedicated to creating value through technology, announced it has received the highest qualification in the second annual HRC Equidad MX: Global Workplace Equality Program organized by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation, in Mexico, which highlights the policies and commercial practices related to inclusion of lesbians, gays bisexuals and transgender (LGBT) people.
“At Softtek we recognize that talent is diverse; we respect the identity and life conditions of each individual and we promote equal treatment and opportunities for all,” said Luis Revilla, vice president of Human Capital at Softtek. “This [notion] gave form to one of our strategic initiatives, Diversity and Inclusion. More than a trend, it is a reality for which we must be prepared; talent is not measured beyond its creative capacity and [the ability] to connect with others,” concluded Revilla.
“Softtek invests in LGBT inclusion in the workplaces because it is a fair and intelligent company. Softtek knows that the future of the economy depends on the talent of today; being more inclusive is a key element to attract and retain the best workforce. We honor Softtek’s appointment as one of the ‘Best places to work for LGBT equality’ and we hope to continue working together in the following years,” said Deena Fidas, director of HRC Equity MX and the Equality Program at the Labor Center.
“This year even more Mexican companies are participating, in addition to the multinationals that also take part in the US. It is in our interest to deepen the dialogue around LGBT diversity and inclusion in more local companies, regardless of their size and as a benefit to the entire population in Mexico," said Fidas.
The 2019 HRC Equity MX report evaluates the policies and practices related to the inclusion of LGBT people in the work place, including anti-discrimination protection; internal diversity and inclusion councils and employee groups; as well as the public commitment of the company with society and LGBT issues. Softtek’s efforts to meet these criteria have resulted in a 100% classification, making the company one of the “best places to work for LGBT equality” and placing it among the 69 leading companies in LGBT inclusion in Mexico, according to the second annual HRC Equity MX index.
